In August 2012, Wire & Cable Lab of Harbin Jiaolian Power Cable, Harbin Institute of Products Quality Supervision & Inspection was prepared to establish, and passed the measurement attestation by Heilongjiang Quality and technology supervision Bureau in May 2013. It is attached to Harbin Institute of Products Quality Supervision & Inspection, a specialized lab for testing combustion performance of wire and cable. It aims to test combustion performance of low smoke and halogen-free wire and cable, of new type and environmental protection, massively produced currently and widely used in some key power supply workplaces in Heilongjiang Province. It is the only one inspection body with inspection qualification and capacity, possessing the most complete and advanced inspection equipment of low smoke and halogen-free wire and cable in Heilongjiang Province. Both Harbin Institute of Products Quality Supervision & Inspection, and Harbin Jiaolian Power Cable, have invested respective resources and technological advantages into the labs.

Test of Burning & Inflaming Retarding

It consists of 8 senior and intermediate inspectors, and covers the area of 300 square meters. It includes six labs: Lab of Vertical Bundling Combustion Spreading, Lab of Halogen Acid Gas, Lab of Smoke Density & Light Transmittance, Lab of Line Combustion Integrity & Impulse, Lab of Electrical Performance, and Lab of Mechanical-Physical Properties & Heat Ageing, with 26 sets of experimental equipment. It has complete management system and controllable whole process inspection.

        The establishment of the labs meets the inspection requirement of low smoke and halogen-free wire and cable, in terms of national standard combustion performance, regular electrical performance and mechanical-physical properties. It guarantees technologically supervision and enforcement by administrative departments of at all levels, cargo inspection by users, in accordance with honesty and high efficiency, scientific management, standard operation. It greatly supports technological innovation, products quality, brand creativity.
